Well situated luxury
Birding on the property itself is already very rewarding. The birds are well habituated to people and good views are possible from your accommodation balcony of Yellow-bellied Greenbul, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird and a range of cuckoos.
The short walks around the property can also offer up some great sightings in White-throated Robin-chat , Fairy Flycatcher in winter and even some sought after specials such as Garden Warbler
There are also a range of nest boxes and logs around the gardens and good views of woodpeckers and barbets are almost guaranteed if you sit with a bit of patience and wait.
The bird hide with its arm chairs makes for a luxurious experience and sitting there at night with a torch can offer views of nightjars hawking insects over the water.
The walks up to the top of the Magaliesberg are worth it for the chance of more montane specials such as Striped Pipit, Short-toed Rock Thrush and Cinnnamon-breasted Bunting.
