Rufous-naped Lark
Eupodotis caerulescens- Habitat: Grassland, savanna and fallow fields.
- Diet: Mixed diet of insects abd seeds.
- Status: Common resident.
- Calls: Common resident.
- Similar looking: Most of the larks but size, very heavy bill, greyer nape that crown and very heavy crest when raised helps separate.
- Similar sounding: None.
ID pitfalls
Being an LBJ, this bird would require good knowledge of LBJs to safely identify when not calling.
Where to find one
Abundant in almost all grassland within its range.
